The Soundless Beeps

The Soundless Beeps is a project created within a team of 2 for the course Creative Electronics.

The beeps in a car when it approaches an object is a very useful feature. However, deaf people or people with a hearing disability cannot use it. Therefore, a replacement for these beeps is designed by using LEDs and vibrations. A steering wheel cover can be assembled easily on the steering wheel and includes 3 LEDs and vibration motors that turn on when the car is too close to an object. The closer the car is to the object, the more LEDs turn on. This way, deaf people can see and feel it when they are approaching an object. To determine the distance to the object a distance sensor is placed on the back of the car.
