This project investigates how elements of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPG) can help students explore fear of failure through cooperative play and AI supported storytelling. A physical board game was designed where players create hybrid animal characters and progress through three narrative rings, each highlighting a different aspect of fear of failure. A custom interaction system links hardware buttons, speech recognition and a large language model to generate short, adaptive narrative responses based on player actions and game state.

The AI narrator delivers clear spoken descriptions, resolves player decisions and reinforces failing forward as a meaningful part of progression.
This work demonstrates TTRPGs can be used to create a safe, collaborative environment where players reframe fear of failure through storytelling. It shows how generative AI can support structured yet flexible narratives to promote experimentation and reflective learning. This combination could open new directions for game-based experiences and emotional exploration.
